About Pedometers
A pedometer is an electronic device that measures the distance you travel by foot, either by walking or by running, which it does so generally by sensing your body motion. A pedometer is an easy-to-use and inexpensive device that may be clipped to the waist of your clothes or worn on your wrist.
There are basically five general types of pedometers (step, distance, calorie burn, GPS, special-type) that you can choose from based on function -- although most pedometers nowadays incorporate multiple features in one single device that is more expensive. If money is an issue, settling for a basic, less-expensive pedometer is just as good as having a multi-function one.
